What is Craniosacral Therapy (according to pop culture)?
Craniosacral therapy is a gentle, hands-on therapeutic approach that focuses on the rhythm of the craniosacral system, which encompasses the membranes and cerebrospinal fluid surrounding the brain and spinal cord. Research has revealed that this rhythm exists in every tissue of the body—every cell—and therefore craniosacral therapy can be applied anywhere in the body. CST aims to enhance functions by relieving tension and restrictions throughout the entire body, encouraging tissues to reorient to their best health state.
Practitioners use light touch to assess alignment and inflammation and facilitate release of stuck areas of the body, improvimg the flow of fluids which promotes overall health and well-being. This therapy can address various issues such as headaches, neck pain, back pain, joint pain, anxiety, stress and more. There are more articles on this blog that go into more detail, but in this one, we’re just going to have a little fun with this question and include three “pop” culture articles—articles from the average Joes and Jane who tried it out.
This first one is an article written by Erin Jahns and published in Byrdie Magazine. I love this article sharing her experience, but I have to add that, as extraordinary as her experience was, craniosacral therapy has even more to offer. It can be a FULL-SPECTRUM, full body healing modality. I’ve used it successfully on virtually every part of the body. This is a link is one woman’s extraordinairy story.
This second one is a fun article from Organic Spa Magazine, written by Perri Ormant Blumberg who writes for Travel and Leisure, The New York Post, The Wall Street Journal and Men’s Journal. She shares a touching story about her Godmother…and pampering! Read that one here.
If you are a fan of Glamour Magazine, Atlanta Magazine, or The Chicago Tribune, you’re going to enjoy this article by award-winning journalist Christine Van Dusen.
